CABE, the government’s advisor on architecture, urban design and public space have slammed the plans for the College site.
“We have significant concerns for the mixed use development proposed on this site and consequently find very little to support within the application. Redeveloping this site brings a unique opportunity to create a new piece of the town that improves the connections between the old town and the new and helps to raise the profile of Swindon. It is extremely disappointing that this opportunity has been lost to a development such as this.”
